Getting started with Console 1 Mixing System Mk III
It's time to make the dream a reality. Learn how to set up your new software and hardware quickly and easily below, then get mixing!
Setting up your software
1. Log in to your Softube account or create an account if you need one.
2. Add your iLok user ID to your Softube account (if you don't have an iLok user ID, we can help you make one).
3. Register the Console 1 license found in your Console 1 box.
4. Download our all-in-one installer, Softube Central, then install and activate your new Console 1 software.
5. If you are installing Fader Mk III, you need to activate it under the Hardware Activations tab.
6. Now you can connect your Console 1 hardware.

Connecting your hardware
1. Connect the unit to the PSU.
2. Connect the unit directly to the computer. Connect one unit at a time directly to the computer to avoid issues.
3. The unit’s firmware will automatically be updated when it connects to the On-Screen Display application. It should update to firmware version 11.0.2 or later.
4. When the units have the latest firmware, you can connect them any way you wish, daisy-chained, via hubs, etc.

Troubleshooting
My unit is not connecting
The unit is turned on and it showed the Softube logo upon start-up, but it isn’t connecting to the Console 1 On-Screen Display application (the icon is gray).
This could be due to many factors, for example bad USB hubs, cables, etc. But the factory firmware isn’t as capable at handling different USB configurations as the latest firmware, so if you are doing a firmware reset, make sure the unit is connected directly to your computer.
1. Connect the unit directly to the computer, without using hubs, daisy-chaining, etc.
2. Try changing USB ports.
My unit is not powering up / The screens look weird
This could be due to older firmware. Please reset the firmware:
1. Make sure you have the latest Console 1 software installed on your computer
2. Disconnect the unit from the computer and power supply.
3. Hold Shift + Display On while connecting the unit to the computer. This will force the latest firmware to be installed.
4. When the installation is complete, the unit will reboot with the latest firmware.
Important information about Fader Mk III Installation.
Only connect Console 1 Fader Mk III to a computer running Console 1 version 2.5.90 or newer.
If you connect with an earlier version running, you will need to reset Console 1 Fader Mk III by holding Shift + Display On while connecting it to power. The hardware will say “Please connect to computer and open the Console 1 app,” if it has been reset correctly.
With the hardware reset, and 2.5.90 or newer software installed, the latest and greatest firmware will be installed.
